Ariadne is searching for a Programmes Administration Consultant 

Ariadne is looking for a Programmes Administration Consultant to help organise meetings for UK funders and provide support to the Ariadne team. 

Ariadne is a European peer-to-peer network of 115 organisations and philanthropists across +20 countries who support social change and human rights. We envision a future in which philanthropy is at the service of the movements, communities, and individuals it supports, bringing its resources to equitable partnerships. 

In our network, we create spaces for joint reflection and learnings, help build trusted relationships among funders, and foster creative and action-orientated collaboration in the philanthropy sector to help build this future.  

Given the political and social context, Ariadne has increased its engagement in the UK, which includes coordination, foresight and specialised programmes for UK funders around issues of gender justice and overall human rights and social change philanthropy.  

Ariadne comprises a small team of four people with staff based in Europe. This consultancy will be based in London. Ariadne is hosted by Global Dialogue, which is registered in England and Wales as a charity (1122052) and a company limited by guarantee (05775827).  

Job Description 

Tasks will include: 

– Working with the Deputy Director, based in London, to support:  

  • Organising and attending Steering Group meetings and other events for the UK-based programmes (both online and in-person); 
  • For in-person events, assisting with venue booking, catering and travel arrangements and risk assessments; 
  • Supporting with communications towards the Steering Groups and Ariadne’s wider membership; 
  • Maintain organised documentation for programme activities, including taking meeting notes, contracts, and correspondence; and build a centralised repository of resources and reference materials to support Steering Group members and wider stakeholders.  
  •  Assist with the preparation of emails, presentations, and other materials related to events; 
  • Providing administrative support to the Deputy Director in relation to budget monitoring, such as maintaining records and tracking expenditure (the role does not hold budget responsibility). 

Person Specification 

Required: 

  • Strong communication skills, tact, and sensitivity; 
  • Capacity to navigate multi-stakeholder environments; 
  • Attention to detail; 
  • Ability to work independently and use own initiative; 
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage a varied workload, prioritise effectively, and work flexibly within a small team; 
  • Good writing skills and editorial judgement; 
  • Strong written and spoken English; 
  • Interest in human rights, social change, or the charitable/non-profit sector; 
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and confidence with digital tools; 
  • Permission to live and work in the UK.  
  • Experience in communicating with different audiences, including engaging with institutional stakeholders; 

Desired: 

  • Experience of organising events (physical and virtual); 
  • Experience of providing support to networks; 
  • Experience of notetaking meetings; 
  • Experience of finance administration; 
  • Understanding of the issues facing social change and human rights sector.  

Terms and Conditions 

  • Hours: This consultancy is part-time, estimated at 2-3 days per week (or equivalent). We are open to discussing a working pattern that suits both the successful candidate and Ariadne. 
  • Terms: The consultancy will run for July – December (6 months, approx. 48 days of work). 
  • Location:  London 
  • Reporting: Reports to the Deputy Director.  

Remuneration: Competitive and commensurate with experience.
