Brandee Butler

Brandee M. Butler is a lawyer, human rights advocate, and philanthropic strategist with over two decades of experience advancing justice through international foundations, civil society, and the private sector. She is the CEO of the Institute for Human Rights and Business, a global think tank promoting a just and regenerative economy.
Brandee previously served as Deputy and Interim CEO at the Fund for Global Human Rights and Director of the Civil Liberties Division at the Open Society Initiative for Europe. She also led human rights and gender justice efforts at the C&A (now Laudes) Foundation and managed programming in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa at the Levi Strauss Foundation. Earlier in her career, she worked with UNICEF in West and Central Africa as a Yale Law School Bernstein Fellow and later at the MacArthur Foundation funding international justice initiatives.
A former Chair of the Ariadne Advisory Board, Brandee holds a JD from Yale Law School and a BA with honors from Harvard University. She is based in Barcelona.
