The Funders’ Initiative for Civil Society, housed at Global Dialogue, has supported the publication of a new guide for all funders, regardless of their field of focus, called Challenging the Closing Space for Civil Society – A Practical Starting Point for Funders. It includes a number of case studies which demonstrate the multiple manifestations of closing space affecting a broad range of actors, and is aimed at helping funders from across sections of work to understand this trend and to find ways to work together to contest it.
